Basic Lily Facts
True lilies are members of flowering plants in the genus Lilium. One way to easily identify a true lily is by the number of leaves and the number of anthers (pods which hold the pollen), which is 6 each. The blooms of lilies are typically large blooms and come in nearly every color. Some lilies are extremely fragrant, while others have no scent at all.
